HOW TO EXPORT YOUR GEDCOM FILE
  1. Log in to your Ancestry account. Go to the tree you want to export (you have to be the owner of the tree).
  2. On the left side of the tree you will see 3 dots. If you hold your mouse over the 3 dots, the options will extend. Click on tree settings.
  3. On the right side under "Manage your tree", click Export Tree.
  4. After processing, click on the blue button, "Download your gedcom file."
  5. Save the file to a place on your computer where you will remember the location. (The desktop is a good place to put it if you are unsure.)
  6. Upload the file here
HOW TO SHARE YOUR TREE FOR PHOTOS

We can download the photos directly from Ancestry if you share your tree with us. You can share by following these steps:

  1. Click the Invite button in top right of your Ancestry tree
  2. Click the Email tab and enter the following information:
    • Email: familychartmasters@gmail.com
    • Role: guest
  3. Click "see living people" (should be blue)
  4. Click "send invites"

We will be able to view the tree and download the photos you would like. If anyone has multiple photos, we will select the profile photo.

For example, size preference, who to start with, number of generations up and/or down, whether you'd like it to be a decorative or a working chart, etc. No instructions will cause delays.

Please collect all of the information you want on your chart before sending it to us. While we are able to make minor corrections on charts, we can no longer start chart development, or give quotes, until all of the necessary family information is gathered.
