Job Summary
This position is for a creative graphic designer who can work with clients to create a graphical representation of their family history information. They work with a variety of programs and products to interpret client needs and design solutions with high visual impact. Working in a fast-paced environment with a high energy, busy team.
Responsibilities and Duties
Work simultaneously on multiple projects based on current client workload. Manage project scheduling to be able to meet customer deadlines.
Create visual representations of family history information in creative format by pulling together various elements of design including graphics, genealogy information, layout, text and colors.
Consult with clients to create cohesive designs that reflect the client’s family culture and history. Prepare rough drafts and present designs and then amend designs to create final product and gain client’s approval.
Review and prepare files for printing including detailed quality checking. Organize and track client payment and finalize project to the client’s specifications.
Think creatively to develop new design concepts, graphics, layouts and presentation solutions. Maintains technical knowledge by keeping up to date with the current software and computer technologies to remain productive.
Work together with a team to create a positive work environment and collaborate on the creative process.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience with design programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc. Experience with genealogy programs and files such as Family Tree Maker, RootsMagic, GEDcom, Legacy Family Tree, PAF, etc. Experience with genealogy databases and websites such as FamilySearch, Ancestry and MyHeritage
Adaptive design eye and skill with creative flair and up to date originality.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret customer’s ideas and communicate possible solutions.
Professionalism regarding other teammates and collaboration with work-life balance.
